Special Enrollment Qualification
A Special Enrollment Period is a limited time when you and your family can enroll in or make changes to health coverage after certain qualifying life events. Common life events that may qualify for special enrollment include moving, job loss and changes in family size. A full list of qualifying life events is below.
In most cases, you have 60 days after the life event to act, though some situations allow up to 60 days before and after the event.
MNsure plans:
Contact MNsure directly for changes to plans purchased through MNsure or to purchase new coverage from MNsure including plans that let you apply for Advance Premium Tax Credits (APTCs) and Cost-Sharing Reductions (CSRs).
Blue Plus plans:
If you are enrolling in a new plan due to a qualifying life event, select the appropriate qualifying event below.
The listing of qualifying life events is subject to change. If you do not see a qualifying event that describes your situation, call 1-800-262-0823 or contact your agent.
If you need to change or replace your current plan with Blue Plus, call the number on the back of your member ID card or talk to your agent.”
